‘From family grown 36-year old vineyards just inland from Margaret River town, this little-known producer snatched not one but two golds for their wines this tasting. Showing some similarities to Knee Deep's version, this chardy is a massive step up when it comes to power and richness. It's smoky and flinty, with salted cashews and a slippery, oily texture, and shows some signs of ageing through slightly honeyed notes. Not exactly a shrinking violet, this wine is like a rotund opera singer, belting one out to her throngs of admirers.’ – Scoop Magazine
| Appearance: A clear vibrant pale straw.
Nose: Intense, fresh with subtle oak tones.
Palate: Rich, loaded with vibrant fruit flavours and a toasty creamy texture. Very intense with a lingering palate.
A cooler year compared with the previous two vintages. We managed the VSP canopy to give the fruit dappled sunlight to give exposure while avoiding sunburn.
The grapes were handpicked in the early morning late February, then whole bunch pressed and 100% barrel fermented. The wine was then matured for 10 months in a combination of new and old French barrels from a variety of forests to integrate the fruit and oak aromas, flavours and textures in a seamless manner.
