Gold Medal Australian Sparkling Wine Show 2019
Made in the traditional method, this Sparkling has had 4 years on lees and drinks deliciously, a little more zingy than the 2005. Released 2 Feb 2019.
| Appearance: A clear vibrant pale straw. Distinctive beads.
Nose: Refined with citrus notes.
Palate: Fresh, elegant & refined, a drier crisp style with good length.
This is our second Sparkling which we continue to produce to celebrate each and every one of our journeys.
We manage the VSP canopy to give the fruit dappled sunlight to give exposure while avoiding sunburn. The grapes were handpicked in the early morning on Valentine’s day. whole bunch pressed and fermented, then battonaged weekly for two months to make the Sparkling base wine. The Sparkling base wine then underwent secondary fermentation in the bottle and each bottle was kept on lees and progress monitored with an intended minimum of three years. With careful monitoring of the wine’s development, the Sparkling was disgorged after four years on lees.
