We like to release wines when they are ready after they have had time to develop.  The other thing we like or rather thrive on are vertical tastings.  I love being able to taste the difference in the vintages.  Our Museum range of Cabernet Sauvignon is a perfect example of wines that are released when they are ready.

Starting with our 2008 vintage in our vertical.  It was a fantastic year for our Cabernet Sauvignon and a true expression of a Margaret River style Cabernet with Bordeaux undertones.  Vibrant blackberry and crushed eucalyptus on the nose, dry tannins with a palate of plum, dark berries and exceptional length.  This we kept a bit back to share, received a Gold from the Melbourne Wine Show and was a runner up for the Jimmy Watson.

2011 is a perfectly balanced wine, with fine firm tannins and good length.  Strong purple-crimson in colour; this is a high-quality, classic Cabernet, with blackcurrant fruit on the one hand, fine-grained, ripe tannins and quality French oak on the other. 97 points Halliday which we are thrilled with.

2015 our latest release Cabernet Sauvignon has scored a 96 in the Halliday Wine Companion.  This is what Halliday has to say about it.

“This is a pretty smart Margaret River cabernet, playing fruit, tannins (yes) and oak off against each other right from the word go.  The cassis, cedar and bay leaf aromas have a silken whisper, growing and evolving on the medium-bodied palate, superfine tannins bowing to the grace and richness of the long palate.”
 James Halliday
