Featured by Huon Hooke in the Sydney Morning Herald's Wine Guide Sep 2013: 'This new producer's impressive range of wines have the bonus of age. This shiraz is youthful all over : deep dark red-purple coloured, smelling of cassis, toasty oak and meaty charcuterie characters. Intense in the mouth, concentrated and dense, with impressive tannins adding authority and structure. Well worth cellaring. Now to 2030.'

TASTING NOTES

 Appearance: A plum purple hue.
Nose: Medium intensity and warm with spice coming through.
Palate: Medium body with a variety of spices, fine grained tannins with good length.

The moderate growing season culminating in the 2007 vintage provided near perfect growing and ripening conditions for the vines.

This vintage is a blend from five different vineyard blocks of Shiraz.

The berries were sent whole to a combination of open and closed static fermentation tanks.  The ferments were pressed off just before dryness; hence, the wine completed its primary fermentation in the oak barrels, adding some spiciness.  The wine was then matured for 10 months in about one third new barrels, mainly from the Allier and Vosges forests.
