2011 UMAMU Sauvignon Blanc receives 95 points & more...

We are sooo stoked, our 2011 Sauvignon Blanc has been featured in The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age wine section 16th Nov 2021! It also received 95 points from Huon Hooke of The Real Review for our Sauvignon Blanc 2011 in October 2021 and is being featured on Real Review Cellar Talk this week of 15th November. It was also awarded a Silver at Langton's Margaret River Wine Show in October 2021. And on Monday 15th November 2021, we also got a lil mention in goodfood.com.au

So guys did you know we produce a Sauvignon Blanc from Margaret River that is 95 points hot! And you probably know we try to produce wines with no screaming parts but can you hear me screaming with joy about this one?!

Here is the background to it…  I have been a little precious about it but it is a privilege to share it with you now. We live and learn. No time not to drink elegant developed Sauvignon Blanc, something UMAMU does well, fingers crossed.

My mother's favourite wine (until UMAMU Estate of course!) was a Pavillon Blanc from Chateau Margaux in Bordeaux. So when we started making our own wine in the Margaret River, Western Australia, we just had to produce our own Sauvignon Blanc to emulate it.

As winemakers, we are passionate about preserving memories, so I got my mum to write 'Blanc' on the front label. I also had Dad write 'For Ann' on the back. After Mum 'left for her next journey' I wanted to do something special with the 2011 and I submitted the 2011 Sauvignon Blanc to Qantas and was thrilled when it was served on Qantas International First Class and got to fly! And now a privilege to be able to share it with you.

This 2011 Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc is vibrant, fresh, racy and mouthwatering with a mere 12% alcohol.

Enjoy wine pairing? Why not try our UMAMU Estate Sauvignon Blanc with Seared Halibut and Zucchini?
