Our Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 also received a Bronze Medal with 88 points, rounding out an exceptional showing for the UMAMU portfolio.
While these particular vintages are not currently available on our online store, you can explore our award-winning 2005 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, which received Gold at the 2023 Australian Small Winemakers Show.
“UMAMU wines are well known for being released only when they’re ready,” said Charmaine, principal of UMAMU Estate.
“It may come as a surprise to many wine lovers around the world to see a 20-year-old Sauvignon Blanc Semillon winning silver and gold medals – but that’s exactly what we’re passionate about. It’s wonderful to see the judges recognising the longevity and balance that careful cellaring can achieve.”
About the Australian Small Winemakers Show
Held in Stanthorpe, Queensland, the Australian Small Winemakers Show is one of the nation’s most respected wine competitions. The show is dedicated to celebrating wineries that crush fewer than 500 tonnes per year.
Over three and a half days in October, a panel of experienced judges from across Australia and New Zealand assessed wines from 51 Geographical Indications.Western Australia performed especially well, earning 24% of all medals and over half of the golds awarded.
With wines assessed under the same strict criteria as major national shows, the results are testament to the exceptional quality among Australia’s boutique producers. UMAMU Estate is proud to receive continued recognition for our unique wines full of balance, elegance, and character.
