Tuck into Peking Duck and UMAMU Cabernet Sauvignon

Peking Duck with our Cabernet Sauvignons
Why does this pairing succeed?
The secret lies in the structure of our Cabernet. It's not a fruit bomb and not mouth puckering. It has a savoury nature and balance, thanks to 15-18 months in French barrel. And the tannins are resolved and mellow.
This balance gives the wine the "horsepower" to stand up to the richness of the duck and sauce. But not such a heavy Cabernet that it bulldozers the peking duck.
This pairing is an absolute winner.
And it's so simple to dish up - Coles instant option for an easy dinner.
There are two types available at Coles, just duck (so I found some wraps to go with it) or duck with pancakes (easiest option). They are available at Woolies too. Had one with our 2019 and loved it so much, had another with our 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon and both pair well.
All you need is the duck in a box with pancakes, julienne of fresh spring onions and cucumber. If you fancy extra kick, add some extra hoisin sauce and chilli oil. Cook the duck in a dish (so you can save the sauce) as per instructions in an airfryer or oven in a dish, duck gets a nice crispy skin. Pop the ingredients onto the pancake, spoon some sauce over and roll up like a spring roll (except the ends are left open) and enjoy with some UMAMU Cabernet.
