Our Brand

Stylistically, our Margaret River wines express and respect what the land provides; they are elegant and have the ability to develop and age.

Our philosophy has always been to give our wines time to develop in the bottle before release, a rarity in today’s wine market. Enjoying wines when they are ready to drink and balanced with no screaming parts, rather than straight after bottling, is how my palate was exposed when I was growing up, so I naturally adopted this for our Margaret River wines.

We currently have two labels, our UMAMU Estate label and our Hallmark range, which features a red seal to express their utmost quality.

2005 was our first vintage and the first wines we released were our Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc Semillon (Margaret River SBS), Margaret River Cabernet Merlot, Margaret River Shiraz and Hallmark Margaret River Chardonnay. As a Margaret River Chardonnay is what originally brought my parents to this part of Western Australia, it was a must to produce!

Sauvignon Blanc Semillon (SBS) is a renowned Margaret River blend inspired from Bordeaux – when we need to adjust the balance we also produce a Margaret River Semillon Sauvignon Blanc (Margaret River SSB). Our Margaret River Cabernet Merlot is inspired by our dear friend Aunty May of Chateau Pichon Longeville and our Margaret River Shiraz enjoys a cooler climate, providing a more elegant style.

Over the last few years, we have focused more on the online wine market, while also participating in on-the-ground consumer events throughout Australia, which we have thoroughly enjoyed. Our UMAMU Estate wines have also been served on Qantas First and Business Class in 2013-14 and 2016-17 and been featured in The Sydney Morning Herald and Gourmet Traveller WINE Guide, these are some of our highlights to date.
